about

Amateur is an ambient techno duo conformed by Angélica Ortíz and Osmara Gamez from Mexico City, whom are involved on music since a while, doing with this project a perfect union of both artists at personal artistic fields, actually having lot of activity and noise on the mexican scene. They have been published at WOS label, whom impulsed this outstanding duo. Angelica (A.N.G.) & Osmara (OSMOSIS) been released several times on many ways like: compilations, Ep's & lp's, also collaborating on several cultural places, mass media institutions apart Amateur's project.


Amateur got focus on this work under a series of stories, represented in collages (done by Osmara). They speak about music, body, love, space, time and which they live, the relationships they make as the way they perceive. Both have this great fascination with the visual act and his auditory, most of the time when they make a performance exposing a visual set, because always exist a close relationship between both, two senses, talking about music and telling a story, in fact, like an audiovisual work generated by personal and global experiences getting transformed by music.

As for the tools they use, they work all over in ableton's platform, adding some field recordings, also sometimes processed acoustic instruments on studio and performance.


"We're so visual, art is the other 50% of the musical work, without the visual we could not have done music and pieces in the same way, without the music, the visual work not appreciated as well. We hope you enjoy the visual work we have added to the album, also our music added on it".
